Nice varmint hunting spread. Got this in an email the other day. Check out the story...
First spot we got to we drove in on a coyote and he shagged out. Next stand we got winded by a couple more yotes. Had little success for the next few stands, other than a bunch of racoons. I had been running the light the whole time because my buddy wanted to get a cat with good spots on it. He finally said he was gonna sit one out.
I grab the behemoth and let my other friend use the light. Coyote comes in and he gets it in right in tha face! (ouch!) Then a cat runs in to about 20 yards and bugs out. She stopped, then took off again so I shot her in mid bounce going away...lets just say she got flipped.
In the end we took 2 yotes, and of course they're clean.

How often to call?
Summary: I'm
assuming that you're hunting coyote hunting. First you have to consider
the terrain in which you are hunting. It could be that the sound isn't
carrying very well. I know you said hill country but you could still be
in a draw or something that's trapping the sound. First I would call
for about 4-5 minutes straight and then set for about the same length
of time. I would do this for about an hour and if I see nothing or hear
nothing the I would switch to one ofthe other sounds and repeat the
process. I hope this helps
