WHO IS "SUPER GUIDE" LAMAR SMITH?
Lamar Smith - Born and raised in South Texas, I have farmed and hunted this region all my life. The South Texas brush country, with it's bountiful and challenging game, was where my father taught me to hunt. I proudly passed on that legacy by teaching those same lessons to my own three sons.
With the emergence of custom-hunting and -outfitting in the early 1990's, I decided to use my hunting skills and lifelong passion for the outdoors for more than recreation. I was approached in 1993 to manage guiding and hunting operations for three area ranchers. These Starr County venues, totaling some 5500-acres of prime white-tailed deer country, have utilized all of the tried-and-true practices of dietary, genetics and herd control. Since then, that acreage has increased to 9000-acres with the inclusion of several other area ranches.
Like many, my lifelong passion of hunting the elusive whitetail began with the rifle and merged with a still-camera. Today, I find nothing captures the game or the hunt better than video. The video captures the drama of the stalk to the crescendo of harvest far better than your mind’s eye or memory ever could. Video records forever the homage and respect paid to the animals via the smiles and jubilation shown by the successful hunter. These priceless moments are caught forever for the client to relive at their whim. So true-to-the-moment, it prompts casual viewers the sense of taking part in the pursuit.
I have at my disposal several HD Canon camcorders to record every cherished detail of our client’s hunt. Not all hunts will be videoed. Filming is dictated by scheduling and availability.

While your relaxing, it's always a treat to enjoy the videos of the day and past hunts by the fire outside and hear the guides reminisce.
